I've been wanting to write about this for weeks but just haven't had time, so here's the gist - if you're looking for something to buy me (and come on, who isn't) I'd like the Plastic Logic eReader. I know it won't be released until sometime in 2009, so if you just can't go another day without buying me something then get me an Amazon Kindle.
The video above is about a much later version from Plastic Logic.
The concept of ePaper is certainly nothing new, but we're finally starting to see some real world products hit the street. It'll be several years before we see them make a substantial impact on our archaic paper-based processes, but rest assured there will indeed come a day when children will ask why we call it a newspaper; it's just a matter of time.
While we wait, if you can get me the Plastic Logic eReader before it's released, I'll send you an autographed Media-Geek t-shirt!!! Yep, that's right, a brand name t-shirt (easily worth $5) with our site logo ironed on (good for at least 1-2 washes), and my autograph (which is completely worthless and nobody can read)!
I'm going to start holding my breath right...now.
