Today I’d like to say Happy Anniversary to the 1,700+ verified members who continue to participate in our growing professional community. In honor of Veterans Day, I’d also like to share with you one of my favorite speeches regarding service to our country.
Happy Anniversary DME Resources!
Over ten years ago I began sharing information regarding proprietary digital CCTV files and players through my personal website, larrycompton.com. In January of 2008 I migrated my online database to a password protected members-only community that I developed for professionals involved in forensic multimedia analysis, Media-Geek.com. Building on all that we’ve learned together over the last decade, exactly one year ago today I launched DME Resources. Happy Anniversary my friends, and thank you for your continued participation and support. Here’s a link to that inaugural Veteran’s Day post announcing the new website.
Happy Veterans Day
“Sir, in the name of God, no sane man would have stood there and done what they did. They saved us all.” This quote is one of many that literally brings tears to my eyes each and every time I read Lt. General John Kelly’s speech that he gave to the Semper Fi Society of St. Louis on November 13, 2010. But it is not just the short, poignant quotes that are amazing, it is the entirty of this true story conveyed by a seasoned leader who had just lost his own son to the war, which he never even mentions in his speech. For those who have served our great country and all of those who have supported them, I say thank you. Not just on this day, but each and every day I wake I am thankful for your sacrifices and service. Even if you’ve read it before, take a few minutes out of your day today to click the link below and read Lt. Gen. Kelly's speech again. I, for one, will never forget. Godspeed.
