Today is the big day, the CS5 launch event extravaganza on Adobe.com. Lots of cool stuff on CS5 available on the Adobe site and Adobe TV...too much to list so go check it out.

Canon grabs the headlines yet again with the EOS-1D C DSLR which will feature 4K high-resolution video capture capability, making it more than ready to usher in the next generation of digital cameras.
Magnetic tape has been used as a storage medium continuously from one of the first contemporary computers onwards -- the UNIVAC, in 1951. That gives it 60 years of unbroken use, from gigantic reel-to-reel rolls of the stuff to tape cartridges that might one day hold 70 terabytes apiece.

This year’s conference is anticipated to be one of the largest, as it’s the IAI’s Centennial event. It's 2:30 am EST and I'm testing browser compatibility. What's wrong with this picture? Anyway, I've tested most of the new member area functionality with IE7 and Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.7 and above; so if you're using the latest from either you're golden!
I've also tested IE6 extensively and noted a few issues related to layout, predominantly due to IE6 and IE5.5 not digging the use of PNG files At some point I may go back and resolve these issues either through "creative code" or simply converting the images to GIFs, but that likely won't be for several weeks. Hey, why not just update your darn browser already...they're both free you know!!! 🤪

Anyway, since I started using Safari as my primary browser, I've been looking for another WYSIWYG editor for our members, because in Safari with TinyMCE set as your editor members couldn't use the Submit or Cancel buttons when attempting to submit articles, news, or events. Long story short I've found one, I'm using it right now, and I'm diggin' it so far.

I've been trying to find time to post a note about last week's LEVA conference since I got back, but have just been overwhelmed with the ever expanding to-do list. It was really great seeing a lot of long time friends and colleagues and getting a chance to learn and network with them again. The entire event seemed to go flawlessly, as always, in large part due to the tireless efforts of the LEVA volunteers (e.g. board & officers).
