Details regarding who will be eligible to apply for our 2022 award year, and when they can apply, are expected to be published here prior to December 31st, 2021.
Below are some of my thoughts on the matter, which I'll be discussing with our Adisory Board later this year.
Who Can Apply?
Humans, whether prospective students, current students, police officers or private forensic practioners. 18+, high school graduate or equivalent.
Personally I would like to assist those working in a digital evidence or video evidence related field/position, whether for law enforcement or private sector; those participating in a digital evidence or video evidence related internship program; those pursuing related graduate degrees, etc.
Amount(s) awarded and number of recipients will be determined by our fundraising budget. As a minimum we will be awarding $5,000.00 USD in 2022.
While the typical application deadline falls within the school year, I expect to extend the application deadline until July 1st of each year. It is my hope this will make it easier for students with a full schedule in the Spring, as well as working professionals.
I anticipate that the online application process will be available by January 1st, 2022.
Additional applicant requirements may be further detailed here prior to launching the application process.
Can I Apply to Attend LEVA Training?
Yes, I hold high regard for LEVA's world-class training and certification process. Although LEVA Certifications are not accredited, and I will always think they should be, they are a pioneer in the field of Digital & Multimedia Evidence and the leading training organization in the field.
Can I Apply to Attend Vendor Training?
Maybe. To be honest, I hadn't considered it until I began typing this. I'll discuss it with the Advisory Board later this year and let you know, prior to launching the online application.
