The National Center for Media Forensics at the University of Colorado Denver is pleased to announce the following course to be offered in Fall 2011:

 

 

 

Forensic Authentication of Digital Images, December 12-14

 

Students explore authentication of digital images with regard to evidence admissibility and counterfeit detection. EXIF data analysis, recompression analysis, PRNU analysis, and more will be discussed. This course is for intermediate to advanced students with a strong technical grasp of image processing apps like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Paintshop Pro. Students are strongly encouraged to bring images from their own cases as well as their own digital cameras for testing.

 

 

 

This course will be taught by Dr. Catalin Grigoras. All classes will meet in person at the National Center for Media Forensics at 1800 Grant Street, Suite 225, Denver, CO, 80203. Classes will meet from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm each day. Tuition cost is $850 and graduate level university credit will be given upon successful completion of the course.
