My Blog Posts

Some of my posts on technology topics & news, digital & multimedia evidence, and our professional community. While I've been posting since the late '90's, posts here only go back to 2005 (when I migrated to using various CMS platforms). Unfortunately, none of the posts or feeds from my RSS based technology news site prior to that have survived. cry  My Current RSS Feed

I've been busy lately, but it's all good stuff my friends.  2FA is working well here now and this weekend I launched three new features; a Desktop app, Android mobile app, and Web push notifications!

DME Resources App Logo

Desktop App

The DME Resources desktop app provides better performance and integrated push notifications via your OS (Win10 & macOS).  To install via Desktop, while visiting our site:

  • Chrome: Click Settings > Install DME Resources
  • Edge (Chromium): Click Settings > Apps > Install DME Resources

Android Mobile App

To install the Android mobile app simply visit our site via your browser on your mobile device, then click "Add DME Resources to Home screen"; a prompt will display confirming you want to install the DME Resources app.

Alternatively, when visiting the site on Android click the Menu icon (3 dots in upper-right corner) and select "Install App"

Done.  That was easy.

Push Notifications

Push notifications will be used for community requests for assistance, significant site updates and the like.  To receive them simply click "Yes, Allow" when visiting our site and prompted.

Available for ALL platforms! Win10, macOS, Android and iOS devices.

Push notification permissions for DME Resources can be disabled via your browser's settings on all supported platforms.

(Process varies by browser. Edge: Settings > Cookies & Permissions.  FireFox: Options > Privacy & Security > PermissionsChrome: Settings > Privacy & Security > Site Settings.)

macOS & iOS

Safari users on macOS as well as iOS users can leverage Progressive Web Applications (PWA).  iOS 13 significantly improved its PWA support.  For more info check out "PWA on iOS: What's New?", via Brainhub
