File Sharing Library - Note About Uploading

General information about uploading files to our File Sharing Library.  DME Resources subscribers can share files up to 1GB in size with other community members or even visitors. Below are the currently supported File Types:

In gist, I want to make every effort to respect any copyrights and licensing. To that end I'm promoting linking to the direct download when feasible as our first option. Our Downloads & File Sharing area allows you to add a file via URL, and of course links and attachments can be added to the Forums as well. We can update these as needed should they change.

This does not mean that we can't upload and/or share proprietary video player software.
Some proprietary video players can in fact be shared without licensing concerns, as it promotes their platform, etc… Sometimes this is explicitly spelled out, sometimes it is not. Others may explicitly state their software is not to be shared, but that's not the end of the story of course.



As an example, if the company that made the software is no longer in business, simply note such in the description field during the upload; but you must make an effort to confirm they're no longer in business, etc...

Another example is where the software provides no identifying information about the maker or any means of contacting them. Simply note it in the description field/post/etc accordingly.

Information (& Metadata) Are Key

Include as much information as possible when adding content or uploading files so others searching can find it. Remember, they may not know what they're looking for or what search terms to use, so adding specifics in the description and metadata fields is vital.


Copyright & Licensing Review Policy

I will be reviewing files and content shared via DME Resources typically once per month. If the license isn't selected during upload OR copyright/licensing information isn't noted in the description or post, I will temporarily remove the content until it can be investigated further.

If you believe content shared by a member violates copyright or licensing, please notify me via my contact form. Thank you for your valuable time and understanding.
